About OGX

Where to start…..?
have you ever tried to write about yourself, it's actually quite a difficult thing to do & sound interesting at the same time, I’ve never registered with one of those dating sites, but I guess it’s a similar thing, mind you, have you seen what a hash of it some people make! Anyway, I guess I’ll start with why we put the site together & go from there…

O-G-X was started at the beginning of summer 2005 for a few reasons.... we're out and out enthusiasts, our tea in the mornings comes in branded 4x4 mugs, we all read the magazines every month, surf the land rover websites, visiting “that” auction site for good cheap parts or even vehicles just to fix. I was the area Rep for GLASS in Bedfordshire, I’m also in several owners clubs, as well as owing vintage military vehicles, a 1944 ex RASC Leyland Hippo,  1941 BSA M20 so you can see getting this site up & running has been something of an inevitability.

T-shirt shop is open, why not buy one of our exclusive T’s & add us to your favorites.

A little about the OGX team the for the record.. Kit, I’m the guy who is somtimes on the gate, the one with the ever changing vehicles, generally the one who will tell to you slow down or not to churn up the verge. (Fun Police!) I work in TV and new media, which translates to mean in a nut shell that I sell TV programmes, channels or make websites that make money for people. I'm separated, but lucky enough to have two beautiful children who I send off to the local coal mine everyday………I’m kidding of course & anyway there isn’t a coal mine for miles round our way.

I bought my first Series landy when I was 22, I’ve rebuilt a 1972 Range Rover, todate I think I’ve owned 6 or 7 series Land Rovers over the years, travelled overland round France in an ex-army 110, enjoyed countless UK motorcycle trips, I'm a huge motorcycle enthusiat and currently own a 1941 BSA M20, my first bike was a CBR600 after that I moved on to 1000cc sports bikes, at one point I had 2 in the garage. 2 years ago I gained my paraglider wings, which is an amazing thing to be able to do, most memorable moment was flying with 5 Eagles in Slovenia, whilst on my way up to cloudbase at 6000 feet. My sister Lucy, does the site development, she'll be the one cooking you your bacon and egg sarnie, so be nice...;-)

We don’t know what it is really, but we just love Land Rovers to bits and driving off-road, what they mean, what they do, what we can do to them, not to mention the owners themselves. Some of us are, by self admittance a bit geeky, some know everything, some drive the hell out of them, some of us even chop them up & then weld them all back together, but we’re all friendly folk, who always have time to chat, flash our lights & wave at each other in passing, I personally think I’m all of the above.

So drive well, look after our green lanes, check your blind spots for bikers, don't let you kids or your dogs get in the way of kite flyers or take a leak on the kites, keep on waving & road-trippin'
